About the Project
Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council (‘the council’) intends to appoint a series of framework contractors to implement transport infrastructure schemes that will help deliver Walsall’s commitments agreed through the 2006 West Midlands Local Transport Plan. These include: major schemes (schemes over £5 million in value, such as Darlaston Strategic Development Area Access Project); Red Route schemes (initiatives to help keep traffic moving on key routes); Bus Showcase schemes (bus route improvement schemes that seek to improve bus travel for existing and new customers); other highway schemes; road safety schemes; public transport schemes; and walking/cycling initiatives.
The projects on this site are example capital schemes that are likely to be delivered in the Walsall area in support of West Midlands Local Transport Plan commitments.
Please note that the list is not exhaustive. The framework agreement is likely to involve contracts for other schemes in the West Midlands Region in support of the West Midlands Local Transport Plan and other transport/regeneration strategies.
